Why do I need to cover my boat?

- Prevents scratches and dents
- Prevents parts from cracking and fading in the sun

- Keeps the boat clean from dust and debris
- Repels water and moisture

- Discourages theft

Are boat covers waterproof?
Don’t assume your boat cover is waterproof, even though it seems like common sense for it to be. Some boat covers claim to be waterproof or water resistant, but the covers are water permeable. At Outdoor Cover Warehouse, we sell boat covers made from the most durable waterproof materials like Sunbrella and Aqualon Edge fabric.
Should I buy from the boat manufacturer or from an online retailer?
A misconception is that you won’t be able to find a well fitting boat cover from anywhere other than where you bought your boat. The truth is, online retailers are manufacturing even better quality semi-custom boat covers at a fraction of the price.
Which boat cover is best for me?
When you are choosing a boat cover from the many options out there today, it is important to take into consideration where you live. If you live in a hot, humid climate, or a cool, moist climate, your cover should be made from a marine grade polyester or acrylic. If you live in a cool, dry climate, most cover materials will work great for you, including polyester mixes.
How do I clean my boat cover?
- Keep dirt, leaves, and other debris from accumulating on the fabric surface. Washing down with a garden hose on a bright sunny day is recommended once a month.
- To remove dirt from either side of the material, use a soft brush and a mild soap solution (such as Ivory). Do not use bleach. Rinse thoroughly with clear water and let dry completely before storing or rolling. If accidental tears occur, repair them as soon as possible.
- Do not store or roll up while wet. Be sure to clean and dry before storage. Mildew can grow during storage if moisture is present.
- Avoid cleaning in a commercial car wash. Do not steam or pressure wash.
How do I know my boat cover will fit?
Measure your boat to find the best fitting cover. At Outdoor Cover Warehouse, you can choose your boat cover simply by finding your exact boat make, model, and size from a drop down menu of sizes.
To measure you boat, following these four easy steps:
- Measure in a straight line the length from the tip of the bow to the center of the transom
- Measure the beam at the widest point of the hull
- Take a second measurement from the bow to the back center of your swim step if you have one
- Measure the length, height, and width of the trolling motor, center console, jack plate, aftermarket pulpit, or anchor davit, if applicable.
